An Indonesian pilot, with the initials F I, operating the Air Asia QZ7510 flight that serves the Jakarta-Bali route allegedly tested positive for morphine use, noted a Special Officer of the Transportation Ministry Hadi M. Djuraid.
"The findings were obtained after a urine test was conducted by a team of the Health Institute of Aeronautics and Directorate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Operation of the Transportation Ministry at the Ngurah Rai Bali Airport in Denpasar," Hadi remarked in a press release received here on Thursday (1/1).
A test was conducted shortly after the plane landed in Bali at 8.50 a.m. local time.
The pilot F I was scheduled to fly Air Asia QZ7511 for a return trip to Jakarta at 9.20 a.m. local time.
As a result of the findings, the pilot was grounded and will undergo further tests at the Health Institute of Aeronautics in Jakarta.
